My previous wallpaper posts have been about showing and sharing with you what is on my own desktop at the time. I’ll still be doing those, but I’ve decided to start something a little different as well: full wallpaper galleries. To kick things off in a pretty big way, I present you with thirty-nine wallpapers captured directly from Makoto Shinkai’s 5 Centimetres Per Second, one of my favourite movies. With its lush and detailed background animation and stunning command of light there are perhaps hundreds of moments in 5cm worth capturing, but I’ve whittled my selection down to thirty and I think just about any fan of the film should find something here they like.
As screenshots from the movie itself, these wallpapers are in a widescreen resolution of 1920×1080. I haven’t watermarked them because of course I don’t own the images (and besides that, I dislike watermarks on wallpapers) but I did take the screen-caps so if you do share anything, I’d appreciate it if you linked back here.
